Got my Cookie Banner

Needed a cookie banner for my little blog. Decided to try GetTerms. It was pretty easy to get it set up, just clicked through some options. Didn't take long. Everything seemed to work fine after I put it on my site. Happy with how it turned out, didn't have to think too much about it.

Always reliable policies

This was my third time using GetTerms. I've bought the Privacy Policy Generator and the Cookie Consent Manager before. This time I got the Terms and Conditions Generator. Just like the other times, it was super easy to use, and the policies felt really thorough. I keep coming back because I know I'll get solid results without any fuss. Consistency is key for me.

So easy to generate!

I just used the Privacy Policy Generator and it was amazing! The process was so straightforward, seriously. I got my policy done in minutes, no headaches. I'm definitely coming back for the Terms of Service. Highly recommend this for anyone needing quick legal docs!

Good value, minor issue

I purchased the Professional Plan, primarily for the GDPR and CCPA policies, and found the generator quite comprehensive. The policies generated were robust and covered all the necessary clauses. However, I had a slight issue with the Website Scanner; it took a bit longer than expected to complete its first scan, about an hour, and I had to refresh the page to see the results. Customer service was responsive though when I inquired, which was good. Overall, it's a solid service for the price, but the scanner could be a touch faster.

Detailed plan review

I signed up for the Agency Plan last month. The initial setup for multi-site management was pretty smooth, and I liked that I could easily add new client sites. I used the Custom Legal Policies feature quite a bit, and it allowed for more specific tailoring than I expected, which was great for some of my niche clients. The Policy Versioning is a lifesaver for tracking changes. Delivery of the generated policies was instant, which is always appreciated. I did contact support once about integrating a specific type of cookie consent banner, and they got back to me within a day with clear instructions. The documentation for integrating with different platforms could be a bit more explicit, but I figured it out eventually. Overall, it's a very capable platform for agencies managing multiple sites' compliance needs.

Is the free version of GetTerms any good for just a small blog? Or do I really need to pay for something?

M Mark S. 3 weeks ago
For a super basic blog with no user data collection beyond standard analytics, the free one might be okay for a start. But if you have comments, emails, etc., probably upgrade.

I tried the free version for a bit. It's really limited. You'll quickly hit a wall if you need GDPR or CCPA stuff.

Where do you even put the promo code? I don't see a box on the first page.

B Brett Okafor 1 month ago
It's usually on the checkout page, right before you finalize payment. Look for a small link or field labeled 'coupon code' or 'promo code'.

R Renee 1 month ago
Yeah, gotta get to the payment step. It's not usually on the plan selection screen.

Do their policies automatically update if new laws come out? Or do I have to keep checking myself?

A Andre 1 month ago
Yeah, they do policy versioning and updates. They generally keep them current with new regulations, which is a huge plus.

That's one of their main selling points! They push updates to your policies when laws change. Makes compliance way easier.

Can you use these policies for a mobile app too? Or is it just for websites?

G Greg Silva 1 month ago
Yep, they definitely have options for mobile app privacy policies. Used it for my indie game.

T Tom Silva 1 month ago
Yeah, they do. Just select the mobile app option when you're generating it.

I have like 5 different websites. Can I manage them all under one plan or do I need separate accounts for each?

S Sarah 1 month ago
They have multi-site management features, especially with their higher-tier plans like the Professional or Agency ones. You can link them all up.

Definitely check out their Professional or Agency plan details. That's what they're for. Helps a lot with multiple sites.

Thinking of switching from Termly to GetTerms. Any big differences or reasons to switch? Just wondering about features and ease of use.

W Wendy Whitfield 1 month ago
I used Termly before. GetTerms feels a bit more straightforward to navigate, I think. Both cover the essentials though.

GetTerms has pretty good multi-site management if you need that. Depends on your specific needs but for basic policy generation, they're both solid.

Hey, wondering if GetTerms policies actually hold up in court? Like, if something went south, would it be solid?

F Faith C. 1 month ago
From what I gather, they're designed to be legally sound. They're templates but they cover all the bases.
2
C Carly T. 1 month ago
Yeah, they're not legal advice though. They just give you the documents. Still your responsibility to make sure you're using them right for your specific situation. But for general stuff, they're good.

anyone know if getterms offers a lifetime deal sometimes? or is it always annual subscription stuff?

R Rachel Reyes 1 month ago
They've had Appsumo deals in the past, which were lifetime. Keep an eye out around Black Friday/Cyber Monday, they sometimes pop up then.

B Brett 1 month ago
I got a lifetime one a while back. They don't do them super often but they do exist. Definitely worth waiting for if you can.
